Brand new instrument, never been played
Excellent
Basically new but may have very small signs of playing such as a very light pick scratch
Great
A played instrument that will have signs of play such as light pick scratching or hazing
Good
A well played instrument that may have 1 or 2 deeper scratches or minor chips in the finish
Fair
A very well played instrument that has multiple deeper scraches or chips
Poor
Non functional or spares and repairs
